» Interseg brings Paulo Valente Gomes to Brazil from Portugal

Public security is an issue that is becoming increasingly more important with Brazil selected to host the 2014 World Soccer Cup, constituting a factor that is crucial for the success of this event.  In order to examine this issue, INTERSEG 2009 - rated as the largest business event in the Public Security sector in South America - brings Paulo Valente Gomes to Brazil from Portugal, where he is the Public Security Police Superintendent and Director of the Higher Institute for Police Sciences and Internal Security, the academy that trains Portuguese police officers.  This guest will speak on: Security for Major International Events: Case Study of the European Soccer Cup – UEFA EURO 2004TM. 

 

This event will be held in Brasília on August 25 – 27, gathering together General Commandants, Public Security Secretaries and Chiefs of Police, among other professionals in this field.  This is a great opportunity for the Brazilian authorities to explore successful techniques for ensuring a safer World Cup, especially for football fans.
